"Todo aparece tal como es: Infinito" por Alex Dodge / "Everything appears as it is: Infinite" by Alex Dodge - ARTE DIGITAL + DIGITAL ART

ALEX DODGE

Alex Dodge is one of those versatile artists capable of creating digital art from scratch and merging tradition and modernity, combining the latter with the possibilities offered by advanced technology.

Everything Is Infinite is a remarkable creation in which the artist seems to challenge the very laws of physics, suggesting that nothing has an end, even though we all have in mind that some things do come to an end and that others are inevitably finite. When looking at this image, I find myself somewhere between reality and fiction, between the real and the imagined, between the straight line and the possibility that it may not exist as we perceive it. Everything seems to be a matter of reflections and, in this case, of playing with water, which somehow shows us that things can be changed and that not everything is necessarily as it is presented to us.

There is something slightly dizzying about looking at one image alongside the other, its reflection, as if we were witnessing a kind of matter and antimatter. To achieve this effect, Dodge first creates a 3D simulation and then translates the tangible part of the work into traditional techniques such as printmaking.

This is his struggle, although perhaps calling it a “confrontation” would be too strong. Nevertheless, in a certain sense, the work presents a comparison between two worlds and two ways of creating that, rather than excluding one another, fit together perfectly.
