#MOSAICO ROMANO DEL SIGLO II A. C. DE LA VILLA ROMANA DE VILLAQUEJIDA (LEÓN) / #ROMAN MOSAIC FROM THE 2ND CENTURY B.C. FROM THE ROMAN VILLA OF VILLAQUEJIDA (LEÓN)

 

Aunque soy más de los griegos también lo romanos me tiran bastante. ¡Estos romanos están locos! podríamos decir parafraseando a Astérix y Obélix pero lo cierto es que muchas veces se comportaron como bárbaros en esos años "locos" a pesar de la diáspora tanto tecnológica y cultural que esparcieron por Europa y África las cuales a decir verdad, las civilizaron a la forma romana,  sin una excesiva mano dura. Es cierto que la forma de ser bárbaro era la manera de ganar guerras en esa época ya que las relaciones internacionales por llamarlas de alguna manera descontextualizada, eran esas.

El mosaico es una preciosidad  con una paleta de colores admirable y con una maestría artesana de un autentico genio en ese arte. El pulpo, de una sencillez pasmosa, es muy decorativo para aquellas majestuosas villas romanas que permitían a aquellos lugareños que trabajan en las misma  a fijarlos al terreno y digo yo que no tendrían el problema actual de la España vaciada. Seguramente serían esclavos sí, pero una cosa no tiene que ver con la otra aunque eso es condenable como no podría ser de otra manera.

Although I am more of a Greek, I am also quite attracted to the Romans. These Romans are crazy! We could say, paraphrasing Asterix and Obelix, but the truth is that they often behaved like barbarians in those "crazy" years, despite the technological and cultural diaspora that they spread throughout Europe and Africa, which, to tell the truth, civilized them in the Roman way, without an excessive heavy hand. It is true that the barbarian way was the way to win wars in that era, since international relations, to call them in some decontextualized way, were like that.

The mosaic is a beauty with an admirable color palette and with the artisan mastery of a true genius in that art. The octopus, of astonishing simplicity, is very decorative for those majestic Roman villas that allowed those locals who work in them to fix them to the ground and I say that they would not have the current problem of empty Spain. They would certainly be slaves, but one thing has nothing to do with the other, although that is reprehensible, as it could not be otherwise.
